Job Description
Summary
This job involves helping people with disabilities, especially those with mental health issues, traumatic brain injuries, or cardiac rehabilitation needs, find and keep competitive jobs through counseling, assessments, and personalized employment plans.
You'll manage a caseload, guide clients on career paths, and connect them with services to achieve vocational goals.
It's a great fit for someone with a background in counseling or psychology who enjoys building relationships and supporting others toward independence.
Key Requirements
- Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field qualifying under CSPD guidelines
- Ability to counsel and advise individuals with physical and mental disabilities toward vocational goals using Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE)
- Strong communication skills to build and maintain relationships with clients, employers, vendors, medical professionals, and colleagues
- Proficiency in logical thinking to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
- Experience or ability to conduct vocational assessments, career exploration, and job preparation
- Capability to manage a caseload, including weekly activities and coordinating services for employment
- Valid driver's license with clean 10-year driving record (required for interview)

In this position you will perform the following job duties:
- Prepare & assist eligible South Carolinians with disabilities to achieve and maintain competitive employment by coordinating services to include vocational counseling, guidance, and direct job placement. (Mental Health, TBI & Cardiac Rehab Caseload Caseload)
- Conduct and coordinate communication assessments, vocational assessments, career exploration, and job preparation instruction and design individualized plan for employment (IPE).
- Complete caseload management activities weekly
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology or other degree qualifying under CSPD guidelines.
- Ability to counsel and advise students and youth with various physical mental disabilities toward a vocational goal through Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE) and consideration of the consumers' interest, abilities and needs.
- Should be able to communicate effectively to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, vendors, employers, the medical community, and coworkers.
- Must be able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
