Requirements

As a Corrections General Industries Factory Supervisor, you will supervise staff and inmate workers manufacturing, producing, and processing Diesel Mechanic Shop products.

You will oversee routine and non-routine factory work, prepare inmate worker progress reports, provide orientation and training, and make recommendations for staff development.

You will direct all phases of product design, determine the most practical use of materials and labor, and monitor product development from start to finish.

This role requires the ability to establish effective working relationships and strong communication skills to ensure inmates learn the standard principles, procedures, and resources used to operate a Diesel Mechanic Shop.

In addition, you will review product demand to justify requests for raw materials and equipment, ensure the availability of goods to satisfy orders, and notify customers of shipping dates and expected fulfillment dates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,273.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in the production of goods or services, which includes one year of lead work experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of lead work experience in the production of goods or services.

Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
