Requirements
As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will provide inmates with vocational training in food preparation, production, service, and baking. You will lead by instructing workers on the safe operation of culinary equipment and ensuring all cleaning and maintenance tasks meet sanitary standards. By overseeing the preparation of meals according to specific recipes, you will guarantee that high-quality food is served to the facility in a timely and efficient manner. Beyond culinary instruction, you will manage the operational integrity of the kitchen by inspecting service areas and food for compliance with safety regulations. Your administrative duties will include planning work assignments, evaluating inmate performance, and maintaining accurate records. Throughout all daily activities, you will be responsible for the care, custody, and control of the inmate population, ensuring a secure and disciplined work environment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with rotating days off.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
