Requirements

As an Electronics Trade Instructor, you will maintain an inmate work crew for the purpose of instructing, coaching, and educating the participants in the field of electronics.

The focus of this position is to provide on the job training and shop instruction for the vocational advancement of inmates in the electronics trade.

Within this role, you will instruct inmates in a variety of electronics, which include general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and installation of new electronic fixtures and equipment.

You will be responsible for maintaining a working knowledge and ability concerning electronic components of cell doors and sliders.

Strong attention to detail is essential, as you will be documenting inmate attendance and training progress, as well as conducting searches to ensure that all materials and tools are accounted for.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours/week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
