We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Corrections Community Center Monitor to join our team at the Pittsburgh Community Corrections Center (CCC).
With the help of other staff, you will supervise and support individuals reentering their communities after incarceration.

In this position, you will provide care, custody, control, monitoring and supervision of re-entrants while ensuring safety and security of the CCC.
This will involve observing re-entrant behavior through one-on-one and group interactions, conducting and documenting re-entrant counts, and providing orientation to new re-entrants.
You will administer and document breathalyzer and urinalysis tests upon re-entrants’ return to the CCC.
Some of your duties will include writing behavior observations, attending disciplinary hearings, and facilitating necessary changes to aid in the re-entrants' successful release back into the community.
You can expect to conduct daily inspections to ensure cleanliness, search for contraband, and provide information to visitors regarding CCC operations.
As a monitor, you will need to demonstrate sensitivity to the public’s and crime victim’s needs, concerns, and complaints then take appropriate actions to respond.
Additionally, you will serve as a point-of-contact for law enforcement agencies, as well as participate in legal proceedings on behalf of the Bureau of Community Corrections.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work.
(Examples of qualifying experience include, but are not limited to: public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
