The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking dedicated and motivated Corrections Community Center Monitors to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of individuals transitioning back into society at the state-operated Scranton Community Corrections Center (CCC).

In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining daily activity logs, monitoring re-entrant behavior, and conducting contraband searches in common areas.
You will manage and maintain inventory for prescription medications, security equipment, tools, hazardous materials, and housekeeping supplies.
Responsibilities include overseeing the sign-in and sign-out register for re-entrants and visitors and regulating movement within the CCC.
You will conduct orientations for new re-entrants, which includes reviewing DOC and CCC policies, rules, and regulations, providing information on available public services, assigning rooms, and delegating tasks.
Additionally, you will observe and document daily activities, issue misconduct reports, and participate in disciplinary hearings.
The ideal candidate demonstrates sensitivity to the needs and concerns of the public and crime victims and responds appropriately to address issues or complaints.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work.
(Examples of qualifying experience include, but are not limited to: public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
