Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team in managing and processing criminal conviction records for sentenced individuals in the Washington State Department of Corrections, ensuring accurate record-keeping and system updates.

Correctional Records Technician Lead (CRT-Lead) - Position CY01

Employee and Business Support Services Administration – Criminal Conviction Records (CCR) Unit, DOC Headquarters

Tumwater, WA


*This position may be eligible to telework once initial training is completed.*


The Employee and Business Support Services Administration has a permanent, full-time Correctional Records Technician Lead (CRT-Lead) opening available. This position, CY01, is within the Criminal Conviction Records (CCR) Unit, which is located at the DOC Headquarters in Tumwater, WA.

The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work hours are determined by unit needs and are at the discretion of the unit supervisor.

Qualifications

In accordance with WFSE Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) 2025-2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this job opening is available to internal transfer candidates ONLY.

Employees who meet the following criteria may apply:

  • You are requesting a transfer under Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the WFSE CBA.
  • You are a permanent DOC employee.
  • You currently hold permanent status in the job class being recruited for in this job posting.
  • You are currently in a position represented by WFSE.

*Specific requirements for position CRT-Lead position CY01:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience maintaining or processing records of sentenced individuals.NOTE: Records of sentenced individuals are defined as records containing certified copies of the original documents relating to the individual's crime and sentence.

    Records of sentenced individuals are not property files, grievance files, administrative files, treatment files, slough files, parole files, counselor files, or custody files.

  • Six (6) months experience of working with the offender management information systems such as: OMNI, JIS/JABS

  • Six (6) months experience with processing of criminal conviction records (CCRs)
