Washington Corrections Center is located 35 miles north of Olympia, the state capital. WCC is a Reception and Diagnostic Center.
The facility is a medium, close and maximum custody facility with the primary responsibility to process, test, and classify all adult male incarcerated individuals sentenced to prison in Washington State.
The facility has seven living units, and houses approximately 1,800 incarcerated individuals. There are approximately 500 incarcerated individuals screened and processed each month.
WCC also serves as the major hub for transportation of incarcerated individuals to and from facilities throughout the state.
You will be one of 3 Correctional Program Managers that cover similar duties over different facility areas and programs. In the role of this Correctional Program Manager, you will work cohesively with unit and program staff to support living units and multiple program areas. You will work under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Programs. Your position will be integral to shaping and molding of facility culture as well as enhancing safety and operational practices to allow effective programming. This Correctional Program Manager position is responsible for living units of various custody levels, is a liaison for multiple programs, oversees and participates in the classification processes for our population and is a member of our management team.

This position contributes to these by completing a job screening process, provides for safe housing, and implementing programs that better the lives of those we serve.
As a Correctional Program Manager, some of your duties will include:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Incarcerated Individual social and security programs, custody, classification, and movement within the Training Center (TC), Restrictive Housing, and other areas of responsibility
Assist with management and determination of staffing needs for five or more Reception Units, three or more General Population Living Units and one Restrictive Housing Unit.
Manage Incarcerated Individual Job assignments, recreation, visitation program, family friendly activities, incentive and cultural events, Extended Family Visits, volunteer programming, and translation services.Maintain the highest standards of personal/professional and ethical conduct and support the state's goals for a diverse workforce.
Oversee hiring, training, evaluations, and corrective action for staff.
Identifies employees' development needs and provides meaningful developmental opportunities.
Ensures timely completion of investigations.
Development and monitoring of the incarcerated individual classification process for four living units, one maximum custody, one medium custody, and two minimum custody.
Oversees the Restricted Housing Unit (RHU). The primary function in overseeing the Restricted Housing Unit is to monitor placements and length of time spent there in order to continue to reduce the use of solitary confinement.
Serves as the Washington Way liaison, Sustainability in Prisons Project (SPP) liaison, Incoming Transport/Job Screening (ITJS) liaison, and the facility Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator.
Chair Local Family CouncilParticipates in the rotation for facility duty officer and as a member of the facility Executive Management team.
May assist and/or provide urgent or emergent decisions needed in the absence of the Associate Superintendent.
Responsibilities require the continuous inspection and review of corrections and security procedures and involves the interpretation of management policy in the daily operations of the facility to ensure the orderly operation of the facility and the safety, health and welfare of staff, incarcerated individuals, visitors, volunteers, and the public.
Monitors staff use of equipment and supplies of all supervised programs, living units, and other areas of control. This position is not assigned an annual budget but is responsible to ensure all living units adhere to an assigned monthly budget.
Makes recommendations and presents justification for budgetary scope of operations for assigned living units, ADA, and other program areas under direct supervision.
Write and review operational memorandums, Post Orders, Operation Manuals, and administrative bulletins.What we need (required qualifications):

Seven (7) years or more of broad based progressive managerial experience or administrative experience within an adult or juvenile corrections environment.
(Broad based experience should include experience in one or more of the following job classes: Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Correctional Unit Supervisor, Corrections Specialist 3 or 4, or similar job classes)
