Full Job Description
- Ensures safety, order, and control of inmates housed in the community hospitals and all other duties assigned by the Division of Security Management.
Inspects posts to ensure proper performance of duties.
Is up to date on security status of inmates assigned to the hospital.
Ensures control of security keys/equipment at the community hospital.
Prepares, submits, and reviews operational and administrative reports.
Responds to complaints and concerns from hospital staff.

Requirements
- U.S. Citizen.
- 18 and over.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Tattoos: Must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head. Tattoos on the neck will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Cannot have been convicted of a crime with a maximum allowable sentence of one year or more, or a fine of $1,000.
- Must pass a physical exam administered by SCDC.
- Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy within six (6) months of entry into this position.
- Must have one (1) year of experience working in a medium/maximum correctional setting.
