Full Job Description

This position is located at the historic Hacienda, Fort Hunter Liggett, CA. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

This position will have a first cut off of January 8, 2026, and applicants that submit a complete application packet prior to that date and found eligible may be given first consideration.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess.

Demonstration of the following work behavior is desirable: a. Neatness and good grooming. b. Dependability. c. Ability to work under pressure. Major Duties:

  • Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing. Prepares hot cereals, concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces and gravies. Makes cold sandwich fillings. Sets up and replenishes salad bar.
  • Prepares food, weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items. Mixes ingredients according to written recipes. Covers, dates and stores leftovers according to established procedures.
  • Operates a variety of kitchen equipment. Disassembles, cleans and re-assembles component parts and accessories. Follows safety procedures to avoid personal injury and damage to the equipment.
  • Cleans, stores and maintains all equipment and work areas after each use. Cleans other work areas and equipment on an established cleaning schedule.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
