About the position: This position is located at Air Spare Bowling Center, RAF Fairford, UK. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Investigation.

Subject to an irregular tour of duty to include nights, weekends, and holidays Must be able satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds, Continuous standing and walking Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces.

Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Documentation could include PCS Orders, UK Visa, etc.

Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'.

A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces.

Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'.

In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens (including UK dual citizens) may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN RESUME): Must have experience in and knowledge of methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work safely, and do simple arithmetic.

Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment, characteristics of various foods, and the ability to season food and decide when foods are done is required.

Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time. Major Duties:

Performs a full range of simple cooking tasks by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers and fresh or canned vegetables.

Prepares hot cereals, broiled meats ;prepares and cooks concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies; makes cold sandwich fillings.

Prepares convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets and chicken nuggets. Some cooks at this level prepare and bake pizza.

Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring or breading; weighs, measures and assembles ingredients for regular menu items Sets up and replenishes salad bar Portions foods for distribution and meal service, and covers, dates and stores leftovers according to established procedures.

Washes and cleans kitchen equipment. Able to assist a full service coffee bar.

Prepares a wide range of drinks including but not limited to; lattes, espresso, Americana, and cappuccinos by selecting the proper grind of coffee shot and following set recipes for each individual variation of drink.

Must be able to follow basic cappuccino requirement of each type of drink including but not limited to; preheating the portafilter, knowing the difference in grinds of coffee, knowing how long should a shot take to brew into a cup, preheating the cup, how to "pull' and "tamp" in to the portafilter, difference in frothing and steaming milk, and able to know difference and relay information to customers on the difference in drink choices.

Performs receiving and disbursing cashier duties. Sets up cappuccino bar for operation and obtains cash bank. Prepares documentation for cash funds accountability.

Assists in the operation of the Bowling Center such as: assigns lanes; arranges for bowling rentals, charging them out to participants, and checking them for condition on their return.
