Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling everyday office tasks in the Cape Coral Police Department's records section, such as typing documents, processing payments, managing files, and helping people with questions or complaints over the phone or in person.

Key Requirements

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in administrative work, revenue handling, accounting/bookkeeping, or related field.
  • Depending on area of assignment, must possess a valid state driver’s license upon hire and obtain a valid Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Under the general supervision of a designated Supervisor, performs routine administrative functions for the City.
  • Ability to perform work of a clerical nature in typing documents, processing account payments and information, researching information, maintaining electronic filing systems, and answering phones.
  • Employees in this class are responsible for customer contact and conflict resolution via telephone, in person, through correspondence, tracking, dispatching, following up and resolving inquiries/complaints via telephone or Internet.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and usually performs such independently with periodic supervision or review.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
