Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team to inspect and manage large-scale road construction projects for the Iowa Department of Transportation, ensuring everything follows the plans and contracts while handling paperwork and communicating with various stakeholders.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in construction inspection who enjoys both fieldwork and office tasks, and who can guide a team with strong leadership skills.
The role requires physical fitness and attention to detail to keep projects safe and on track.
The Iowa Department of Transportation is looking for a leader to oversee a driven team in charge of inspections for long-term roadway construction efforts.
In the role of a Construction Technician Senior, you will be responsible for inspecting, material certification, and reviewing contract documentation for our complex construction projects.

Location: Chariton Resident Construction Engineer Office
Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary and some overnight travel may be required.
