Full Job Description

The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Right of Way Bureau is seeking a student intern who is interested in getting some hands-on CAD experience!

This position would assist in our parcel digitization effort, where we are digitizing DOT acquired parcels on transportation projects throughout the state.

Responsibilities of the intern would include researching parcels in the DOT’s Electronic Management Records System (ERMS) and digitizing parcels from strip maps and plat maps into CAD. Various other duties assisting the Bureau’s GIS and Design units may be required.

On the job training in CAD and some GIS and A.I. machine learning. Candidates with existing CAD experience preferred and willingness to learn new programs.

Duration: Student will work full-time (up to 40 hours/week) during the summer semester. Part-time during fall and spring semesters (up to 20-hours per week) options are available.

Qualifications

Requirements: Currently enrolled students in a degree program at an accredited educational institution.
