This job involves leading a team of software experts at a naval base in California to develop, test, and maintain software for military aircraft systems, while managing budgets and ensuring everything meets security standards.
It's ideal for an experienced computer scientist who enjoys directing projects, working with diverse teams, and aligning technical work with big-picture goals in a government setting.
You will serve as the E-2 Software Support Activity (SSA) Pt Mugu Team Lead in the Mission Planning and Off-Board Mission Systems Division, Spectrum Warfare Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band (DP-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading technical teams through various phases of the software lifecycle, including development, sustainment, integration, testing, and configuration management; 2) Applying knowledge of product lifecycle and procurement processes to guide the execution of software projects toward organizational goals; 3) Ensuring software development efforts comply with established cybersecurity and software assurance requirements; and 4) Managing software portfolios and overseeing contract execution to meet strategic objectives and organizational priorities.
