About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the RAF Croughton, UK.
Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 3 Level) is required. Must be able to physically lift, carry, and move objects up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to stand, walk, move around for extended periods of time. Must be willing to travel between 422 FSS operating locations. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces.
Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK.
Documentation could include PCS Orders, UK Visa, etc.Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'.
A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces.
Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'.In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens (including UK dual citizens) may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN RESUME): NF-02 (Entry Level): Knowledge of computer operations and peripheral devices. Skill in following established procedures and detailed instructions.
Ability to provide basic technical support to users. Ability to use a ticketing system to track and manage technical support requests. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. NF-03 (Target Level): All NF-02 requirements. One year of specialized experience operating computer systems in a professional setting.
Ability to independently operate and monitor computer systems and peripheral devices, following established procedures.
Ability to troubleshoot basic computer-related problems and provide effective solutions. Major Duties:
Assignments become progressively more difficult until the full performance level is reached.
Makes appropriate computer console settings to activate internal control and utility programs; activates peripheral devices such as Point of Sale (POS) systems, hardware/software, and associated microcomputer applications and local area networks (LAN) used in management of FSS programs.
Executes routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning equipment, replacing printer cartridges, and running diagnostic programs, following established schedules and procedures.
Provides basic technical support to users, answering questions about system operation and troubleshooting simple problems. Refers more complex issues to the IT Specialist.
Assists with maintaining an accurate inventory of computer equipment and peripherals, tracking additions, deletions, and changes in location.
Assists the information technology specialist concerning day-to-day operations, system administration, database, life-cycle management, information assurance, configuration and project management for FSS Command Reporting system and automated programs for all FSS activities.
Serves as the alternate Equipment Custodian (EC) for security issues associated with Force Support systems. Provides life cycle management for equipment.
Initiates corrective actions in situations where unanticipated or difficult machine stoppages or program errors occur for which prescribed operating instructions are inadequate.
