Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing guidance on system changes; troubleshooting hardware and/or software problems with the network, maintaining network systems to ensure operational standards are met, providing technical assistance regarding network to minimize disruptions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07.

Major Duties:

  • Establish and manages user accounts and determines and maintains user privilege levels.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, Wide Area Network, and Local Area Network problems where applicable, and coordinates with the installation's Communications Unit to ensure timely resolution.
  • Administer the process to consider user requests for additional computer hardware and software.
  • Investigate damaged and missing equipment and conducts inventories of ADPE equipment.
  • Provide information management services to include database design, data analysis, and an information crosswalk providing customers with a detailed listing of information resources available in the Medical Treatment Facility
  • Accomplish risk analyses, accreditation, and certification packages.
  • Make recommendations for system improvements.
