This job involves planning, marketing, and running community events and programs for Air Force personnel and their families, both on the base and in the local area, while building partnerships with outside groups to make the most of available resources.
It focuses on creating fun, engaging activities based on what people want and need.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 27th Special Operations Force Support Squadron. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: military recreation; morale, welfare, and recreation business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage.
Skill in written and oral communication techniques to explain, justify, and present ideas and findings on a variety of issues.
Ability to make decisions and work effectively under the pressure of timelines and rigid deadlines.
Knowledge of accounting and budgeting procedures in order to prepare, monitor variances, and revise budgets. Must possess skill in dealing with customers and the public.
Experience using Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Bachelors degree in recreational leadership, parks and recreation management, leisure studies or related field is highly desirable. Major Duties:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide programs and events based on customer input/feedback and available resources both on the installation and in the surrounding community that meet the current demands of the Airman.
Plans, develops, markets, and executes diversified, innovative, needs-based social, cultural, installation-wide special events and community partnership programs to support authorized users of Force Support Squadron facilities and programs.
Develops programs and events based on customer input/feedback and available resources both on the installation and in the surrounding community.
Develops and maintains partnerships with various external agencies, businesses, community, professional associations, local colleges, universities, parks and recreation departments, commercial vendors, and national organizations.
Writes professional proposals for use in attracting and establishing mutually beneficial cooperative agreements with on- and off-installation partners.
Develops plans and coordinates with other agencies to execute programs, partnerships, special events, and joint undertakings to maximize resources.
Assists with the development of marketing strategies, event publicity and promotions, and customer engagement strategies.
Coordinates with activity managers and marketing to develop annual activity program calendars, marketing and strategic plans.
Captures, develops and maintains information on a variety of community programs on or off the installation. Ensures programs and special events are properly staffed with qualified personnel.
Creates a concierge experience to deliver beneficial and quality programs and services.
Coordinates with owning units to identify available spaces for programs, organized activities and other special events to match customer needs.
Develops, monitors, and analyzes applicable statistical data such as patronage, financial trends, customer surveys and suggestions to evaluate program effectiveness and applicability to strategic goals and plan improvements.
Implements and maintains an effective internal control system to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.
Prepares a community programs cost analysis prior to implementation and after-action reports for each program or event.
Conducts senior leadership briefings and provides reports on status and program progress and advises of any significant developments that may impact existing or future programs.
Recommends divestiture, modification or initiation of new programs and partnerships. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty.
Requires long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, reaching and lifting of moderately heavy items. Develops APF and NAF budgets.
Responsible for protection of assets and financial resources. May be required to perform supervisory duties.
