The work you accomplish in this role will help us continue to make sure DOH programs are available to the citizens of Pennsylvania.

Requirements

In this position, you will ensure the health of the community by linking DOH programs resources with community partnership activities. This is done via meetings, teleconferences, and clinics.

You will provide and supervise clinical services for immunizations, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and STDs, including specimen collection to patient health and prevent or control disease.

Some of your duties will include directing public health services and special projects, representing DOH on committees, and participating in the development of procedures and policies.

Additionally, you will advise management regarding program implementation and training needs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Weekends and after-hours as needed
  • Headquarters will be determined by selected candidate and may be one of the following counties: Adams, Franklin, or Fulton.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in one of the above counties. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Community Health Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of community health nursing experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
