Summary

This job involves leading a team of supervisors and workers in various trades to maintain and repair naval ships and facilities at a Navy base in Washington state.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Combined Trades Supervisor II in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will plan overall work assignments on an immediate and long-range basis in accordance with established schedule requirements.
  • You will ensure plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available, and needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
  • You will control the work of the lead shops and coordinate the work of miscellaneous trades that are assigned work within the zone.
  • You will participate in combined nuclear and non-nuclear long-range planning efforts and scheduling development.
  • You will establish, assign, and explain work requirements to subordinate supervisors setting deadlines, priorities, and sequences to be followed for work operations.
  • You will identify training and qualification needs of subordinates, on-the-job training, recommend personnel actions, and enforce disciplinary actions.
