This job involves traveling around West Virginia to help students and families learn about college options, financial aid like FAFSA, and tools for getting into higher education through workshops and one-on-one advising.

Outreach & Training: Implementing outreach services, coordinating, scheduling, and conducting workshops and trainings (including FAFSA, financial aid, and college exploration), and staffing outreach displays.
Collaboration & Promotion: Working with district, school, and college access personnel; promoting and assisting high school counselors; developing local/state partnerships; and coordinating with agency staff.
Instructional Delivery: Delivering instructional activities related to college awareness and access, including CFWV.com web portal workshops, to various group sizes and settings.
Resource Management & Reporting: Working with staff and institutions to ensure resource accessibility; collecting and reporting required monthly data on outreach efforts; and performing other assigned duties for the Divisions of Financial Aid and Student Affairs.
Required Skills:
Effective public speaking and interpersonal communication.
Proficiency with computers, internet, and Microsoft Office 365.
Goal-oriented, strong organizational skills, and commitment to a team approach.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and solve problems effectively.
Strong knowledge of West Virginia's public education, economic, and cultural issues.
Ability to learn and apply complex federal and state laws and regulations (financial aid and student eligibility) and understand FAFSA complexities.
Ability to travel extensively to targeted regional sites (in-state and occasional out-of-state).
