This job involves overseeing a contractor who handles alterations and fittings for military uniforms given to new recruits at a Texas Air Force base.
The role requires checking the contractor's work against contract rules, documenting performance, and ensuring everything meets military standards.

The primary purpose of this position is: To monitor, evaluate and document contractor's performance inaccordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) as defined in the Alterations and Fitting Service Contract.The Air Force Clothing Initial Issue Function (AFCIIF) is the single Air Force/Space Force activity that issuesmilitary uniform clothing items to recruits at JBSA Lackland AFB.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes Practical knowledge of an extensive body of rules and procedures in contract monitoring procedures, requiringextensive training or experience, to perform a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard procedural assignments andresolve a wide range of problems.
OR EDUCATION: 1 full year of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of the military clothing, uniform standards, and military specifications for USAF/USSF issued uniforms required. 2.
Knowledge of USAF documentation and correspondence management including setting up of and maintenance of files. Knowledge of use in personal computer programs desired. 3.
Knowledge of inspection methods required. Skills to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with management and contractor to explain contract requirements and schedules required. 4.
Skills to make compliance/non-compliance decisions on contractor performance based upon QASP instructions and guidelines required 5. Ability to read and interpret contract plans and specifications.
Ability to inspect materials, workmanship and services performed to determine if work performed meets contract specifications required. 6.
Ability to do a considerable amount of walking, standing, and bending to perform COR duties. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Monitors contractor performance of the Alteration and Fitting Service Contract for military uniformclothing issued to recruits.
Determines acceptability of contractor's performance based on 100% surveillance IAW QASP and PWS standards.
Prepares monthly Quality Assurance Evaluator Schedule (AF Form 801) for alterations and fitting using 100%inspection criteria as prescribed by the QASP.
Acts as advisor for Performance Evaluation Board (PEB). Advises board regarding matters requiringGovernment/Contractor interface.
