Summary

About the Position: This position is located in the Psychology Services at Southcom in Doral, Florida.

The primary purpose is to provide a team-based approach to healthcare by integrating behavioral health providers and registered nurses into Primary Care Clinics to deliver evidence-based biopsychosocial assessment, treatment, prevention and management of behavioral health problems and conditions.

Working hours 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist: Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.

or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; working as part of a multidisciplinary team; and determining level of care required for suicide risk and prevention.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S.

State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction. Major Duties:

  • Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
  • Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendations for team-based care.
  • Implement psychoeducational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in the primary care clinic.
  • Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.
  • Utilize objective behavioral outcome measures to evaluate treatment progress and contribute to program effectiveness.
  • Educate clinical staff and patients on the principles of primary care behavioral health and promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors.
  • Conduct rapid assessments and developing brief, problem-focused treatment plans for beneficiaries with acute and chronic mental health and behavioral medicine conditions in a fast-paced clinical environment.
