Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a clinical psychologist at a military medical center in Hawaii, where you'll assess patients' mental health needs, create treatment plans, and provide counseling to service members and their families.

About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center in the Directorate of Medicine, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience: Performing bio-psychosocial evaluations, developing behavioral health treatment plans, and providing psychological counseling.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Special Placement Factor: Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S.

State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted Major Duties:

  • Conduct Clinical intake interviews with patients to identify psychosocial stressors and barriers.
  • Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary treatment planning to ensure coordinated, stepped-care across the system.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to complex therapy.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings and presentations on mental health-related issues.
  • Conduct evaluations including Commander-directed mental health evaluations.
  • Contribute to program evaluation, policy development, and organizational decision-making by providing expert insight into behavioral health issues across pediatric and family populations.
