About the Position: This position is located at the Behavioral Health Clinic in Grafenwöhr, Germany.

The incumbent will work as an independent professional under the administrative supervision of Behavioral Health carrying out duties in accordance with generally accepted psychological theories, methods, techniques, and practices.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist: Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.

or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: provide individual and group therapy, using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and client-centered therapy; and assessing acute mental health conditions in beneficiaries and maintain appropriate documentation of patient care in accordance with agency and hospital standard operating procedures.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Assess and provide crisis intervention for individuals and families.
  • Screen and interview patients, and performs bio-psychological social evaluations, using expert knowledge of general and specific principles, procedures, and practices relating to psychological counseling.
  • Participate with other professional staff in providing emergency mental health services to patients during normal duty hours to include screening patients for appropriateness of psychiatric hospitalizations.
  • Coordinate with a variety of agencies to assist with the multidisciplinary treatment of patients that may include social work, community counseling centers, the exceptional family member program.
  • Conduct therapy, monitor, approve, and documents all treatment planning and provide advice for case staffing, using expert knowledge of general and specific concepts and principles relating to psychological counseling.
  • Evaluate clinical records and monitor all test administration and scoring for quality assurance.
  • Evaluate and revise standard operating procedures.
  • Interpret various complex tests. Provide consultation regarding testing and interpreting issues.
