Summary

This job is about helping people in a prison and psychiatric hospital eat better by creating personalized meal plans, teaching them about nutrition for issues like diabetes or high blood pressure, and checking that meals follow health rules.

Full Job Description

This role involves providing essential dietary and nutritional support to incarcerated individuals and patients through individualized consultation, assessment and follow up care.
Key responsibilities include:
Recommend modified diets, snacks and other dietary accommodations based on medical indications.
Provide nutritional education for diabetes, hyperlipidemia, weight management, hypertension, and other nutrition related topics.
Serve as a liaison between the IMCC Dietary and Health Services Department.
Complete nutrition assessments for all new admissions to the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital within the allotted time frame and audit patient meal trays monthly to ensure compliance with dietary guidelines.

The role requires Licensure and Registration as a Clinical Dietician, strong communication skills to collaborate with multiple departments, patients and incarcerated individuals and the ability to document all dietetic and nutrition related encounters and audit findings accurately.
