This role acts as the front-line receptionist for the West Virginia State Treasurer's Office, welcoming visitors and callers, directing them appropriately, and providing basic customer service for unclaimed property inquiries.
It also involves handling simple claims processing and administrative tasks like scanning mail and maintaining office equipment.

Nature of Work:
Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for greeting all Unclaimed Property visitors as well as greeting all other visitors that enter the State Treasurer’s Office building. The person in this position determines nature of business and directs callers and visitors to the proper destination. This person may also assist the public or work on simple claims. This position requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, holders of abandoned property, and employees to provide effective claims processing.Job Duties:
Acts in the capacity of an entry level claim specialist when not performing the main duty of a receptionist.
Processes and reviews simple/basic claims in accordance with the Unclaimed Property Guidelines and in compliance with the West Virginia Unclaimed Property Act, as well as any other applicable policies and procedures.
