In this position, you will utilize engineering principles to develop and assess engineering drawings, ensuring they align with permit applications.
Your responsibilities will include creating and reviewing necessary calculations, designs, and analyses to secure permits and address environmental concerns.
You will evaluate the environmental impacts of both proposed and existing transportation facilities, considering aspects such as landforms, water quality, land use, cultural resources, and the effects on threatened and endangered species.
The role also involves conducting environmental analyses and preparing technical reports on hazardous waste, wetland investigations, and species assessments.
Additionally, you will review studies related to natural resources and pollution control as part of the environmental clearance process, while researching the potential impacts of transportation projects on various environmental and community factors.
Fieldwork will be a significant aspect of the role, encompassing wetland identification, species surveys, waste investigations, and monitoring post-construction activities, as well as providing support to construction and maintenance teams in resolving issues.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
