Requirements
As Chief Pharmacist, you will provide oversight and accountability for all pharmaceutical services. You will ensure the department operates in strict compliance with federal and state laws while maintaining a safe environment through the diligent use of universal precautions and personal protective equipment. By leading performance improvement project teams and mentoring staff in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) tools, you will translate data into actionable improvements that support the facility's overall quality assurance goals. In this leadership role, you will develop and manage policies regarding the procurement, storage, and disposal of medications, while closely monitoring safety protocols such as drug recalls and adverse reaction reporting. You will also be responsible for the integrity of the facility's inventory, directing regular audits and spot checks to maintain total asset control. Additionally, you will supervise the compounding and dispensing of medications by personally reviewing computerized profiles to check for drug interactions and by ensuring that every veteran receives optimal, high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 75 hours biweekly
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirement:- Two years of experience as a pharmacist in a hospital pharmacy.
Special Requirement:- This position requires possession of a license to practice pharmacy as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
