Job Description

Summary

This role involves leading the administrative and operational side of a naval aviation training command, advising top leaders on planning, policies, and resource management to ensure effective training programs.

It requires overseeing personnel, developing strategies, and coordinating with senior officials in the naval aviation community.

A good fit would be an experienced senior manager with a strong background in military or government operations, particularly in aviation training and leadership.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a CHIEF OF STAFF in the CHIEF OF OPERATIONS of NAVAVNWARDEVCEN.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Advising leadership in the organizational planning, policy development, or management of resources for a Naval Aviation Warfighting Training program.

  • You will serve as the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Command (NAWDC) Chief of Staff, responsible for the overall direction, execution, coordination and program management of the organization's administrative functions and requirements.
  • You will be the chief civilian advisor to the commander and provide mastery level expertise on all administrative, personnel, naval aviation and strike warfare training matters under the cognizance of NAWDC.
  • You will participate in the overall leadership of NAWDC and provide direct oversight of all military and civilian training programs, weapons and tactics.
  • You will determine the direction of personnel management, training strategies, develop and implement policies, direct the long-range strategic planning, and lead integrated for consolidated projects.
  • You will interface directly with senior level leaders and managers in the naval aviation enterprise training continuum community to facilitate continuous dialogue regarding tactical training needs.
  • You will serve as an adviser to the NAWDC Commander and other senior executive staff concerning adequacy, propriety, and direction of administrative operations.
  • You will serve as the focal point for communication of new or changed administrative requirements.
  • You will collaborate with subordinates to develop, analyze, evaluate, and review projects relating to improving the effectiveness of work methods and procedures, manpower utilization, distribution of work assignments, and other administrative issues.
  • You will provide advice regarding program management and procedures, systems, and practices for increasing efficiency of mission accomplishment.
