  • Experience training lower-level technicians
  • Pass pre-employment drug test and submit to random drug/alcohol testing; availability for on-call rotation and emergency work

Job Description
A Trades Technician III in the Carpentry Division is responsible for performing journeyman carpentry trade duties including new construction of walls, doors, cabinets, and or demolition or renovation of existing walls, doors, cabinets, etc. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure high-quality results across all assigned tasks. A Trades Technician III may also serve as a lead to staff and may fill in for the Trades Tech IV.

Essential Duties
  • Performs and assists in completing carpentry trade duties
  • Completes painting, roofing, floor coverings, staining and varnishing of materials and buildings
  • Performs locksmith work, including repairing old locks, panic bars, and new locking hardware
  • Trains lower-level technicians
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Grade
The grade for this position is B23(3). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D. and
  • Four years of trades experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four years of general carpentry experience
  • Locksmith and electrical low-voltage knowledge and skills
