The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required.

Associate degree or certification from an accredited business or technical school, or enrolled student in a community college, junior college, university or graduate school program.

*Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing a criminal history records check (or other applicable security clearance) and a pre-employment drug-test (pre-identified position only).

Major Duties:

Job Summary: The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers, and staff.

The CAO organization comprises more than 800 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

This position is in the Immediate Office (Capitol Service Center), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S.

House of Representatives (House), serving as an Intern and is appointed on a temporary basis for a period not to exceed 120 days.

The Intern will be provided a structured educational opportunity through exposure to the business operations of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The Intern will have the opportunity to rotate through different assignments to gain real life experience for their degree, certification, or professional development.

The position does not have day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities. This position may have access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

* paid at an annual rate of $36,834 not to exceed 120 days. ** The CAO standard business hours are 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship that will require onsite attendance in Washington, D.C.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Provides support for various reports and other administrative tasks; provides timely information for management, stakeholders, and customers.

Works with management in helping the office deliver passionate and professional customers service.

Participates in routine planning activities related to the work at hand and assists with the development of timelines or planning documents.

Able to develop effective relationships with internal and external solutions delivery partners to achieve strategic and customer solution goals.

Have skills in customer service, consultation, and outreach. Performs other official duties and special projects assigned.

Provides administrative or operational support on various projects and activities. Provides and projects a positive customer-focused professional image in all interactions.
