This job is for managing the canteen at a correctional facility, where you'll supervise staff and inmates, handle inventory and sales, and ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
It's ideal for someone with experience in retail or inventory management who is comfortable working in a prison setting and following strict rules.
The role involves training and basic corrections procedures to keep operations safe and efficient.
Supervision of all canteen personnel, civilian back up and inmates.
Interview, hire, and terminate all inmate canteen workers.
Oversee sales transactions through the canteen point of sale system.
Ensure all adjustments are correctly processed.
Maintain proper requisitioning, receipt, and storage of all canteen products.
Ensure that all policy and security procedures are followed to prevent loss of product and equipment.
Follow procedures to maintain adequate inventory levels and ensure stock rotation.
Supervise the daily reporting of sales and receipts to ensure they are accurate.
Conduct daily, quarterly, and monthly inventories.
Standard position hours may vary per institution and subject to change.
