Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job is a temporary assignment within King County's Department of Assessments, where you'll help build and document technical solutions for property tax exemptions and accounting systems, working closely with experts and teams to improve how the office handles property data and IT tools.
It's ideal for current county employees who are analytical, good at communicating between technical and non-technical people, and enjoy solving problems in a fast-paced, team environment.
The role focuses on making sure property assessments are fair and efficient for taxpayers.

The Department of Assessments (DOA) is seeking a dynamic Business Analyst Special Duty Assignment (SDA) candidate who understands the importance and value of functional development of solutions based upon systems and processes impacted by legislative updates, specifically related to Senior and Disabled property tax exemptions under RCW 84.36.379-389.
Additionally, you will need to leverage your knowledge of legacy-based DOA accounting systems and Senior Exemption Property Tax Administration System (PTAS) to further enhance production capabilities.
The specific responsibilities of the position include a variety of production and development tasks such as supporting and enhancing existing department software applications, including Dynamics 365, customizing vendor and in-house developed packages and other applications, supporting and training users/clients, troubleshooting user applications and interfaces, systems integration, and resolving user acceptance problems.
This position serves a vital role in meeting our mission of setting fair and equitable property values, the primary service we provide to taxpayers. This role involves ongoing interaction with staff and requires strong analytical skills, Assess to Collect workstream knowledge, and a strong grounding in customer support with the ability to work in a culturally and generationally diverse team-oriented environment.Are You....
