About the Position: This position is located Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This position requires a qualified typist.

A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating the preparation or renewal of contracts, utilizing database to create, maintain, manipulate, and/or calculate data and identifying monthly/quarterly trends to analyze discrepancies.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Budget or Financial Management.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18.

Add the two percentages. AND Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Major Duties:

  • Gathers, extracts, and compiles data for use in recurring and nonrecurring reports and provides status updates.
  • Establishes, maintains, and updates expenditures relative to funding activities.
  • Creates updates, maintains and manages sensitive budget spreadsheets for Graduate Medical Education staff to ensure accurate and timely information management.
  • Serves as the liaison between San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC) residents and training institutions to ensure proper documentation such as valid receipts are received for each service purchased.
  • Serves as the Primary or Alternate COR for government contracts and also approves contractor billing request based on contractor time cards.
