This position is located at a National Park Service unit in the Division of Administration. The incumbent independently performs routine budget analyst duties.

If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors).
Specialized experience is experience that equips the applicant with the competencies needed to perform the duties of this position.
Experience for this position at this level must include at least sis (6) of the following activities: (1) Assisting with the preparation and tracking of a budget; (2) providing required data to staff for program planning summaries; (3) assisting with execution of the current year budget; (4) reviewing budget justification data submitted in support of budget estimates or requests; (5) preparing data summaries for inclusion in routine reports; (6) tabulating cost data on assigned projects; (7) applying basic budget cost analysis to budgetary data; (8) assisting with tracking expenditures by proper accounts and type; and (9) drafting financial reports consistent with regulations and guidelines.
You must include hours per week worked.
-OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B.
or J.D., if related. You must include transcripts. -OR- COMBINATION: Successful completion of the education and experience as described above.
This is determined by computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages.
The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. You must include transcripts.
You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week.
Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".
Experience listed as full-time will be credited at 40 hours per week.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
The major duties of the Budget Analyst, G-09 position include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists with the development, preparation, and revision of the unit budget, and in the preparation of instructions to managers regarding funding estimates and budget planning for the coming fiscal year.
Assists with execution of the current year budget for the unit, including analysis of needs, recommendation for modifications, and making allotments.
Checks the accuracy and adequacy of budget justification data submitted in support of budget estimates or requests for allotments by comparison with source documents (e.g., acquisition records, historical financial data, payroll reports, and fixed cost data).
Prepares data summaries for inclusion in routine and special reports on budget execution.
Tabulates data on individual projects (e.g., construction, research, or maintenance) and applies basic budget analysis (e.g., cost-benefit ratios) to budgetary data to illustrate the effects of changes in levels of funding for current projects.
Uses governmental software systems such as AFS and FBMS to perform budgetary functions.
