This recruitment is seeking to fill multiple Budget Analyst 3s.
One permanent and one project position that is currently funded through October 30, 2030.
The Department of Health (DOH) works to protect and improve the health of people across Washington State. This position advances that mission by delivering high-quality financial services and ensuring strong stewardship of public funds that support critical public health programs.
The Office of Financial Services (OFS) provides leadership and support for agency priorities through budgeting, contracting, grant management, purchasing, and accounting services, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
Within OFS, the Office of Program Financial Management (OPFM) oversees daily fiscal operations, ensuring funds are requested, managed, and aligned with agency priorities. This position supports the Office of Prevention, Safety, & Health (OPSH) and reports to the OPFM Deputy Director.

Required Qualifications

Option 1: Three (3) or more years of experience providing financial management expertise in preparing, supporting, and or managing complex financial budgets.
This includes experience providing analysis, problem solving, critical thinking, as well as creating and reporting out on complex financial reports to appropriate audiences.
Option 2: Associate degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or related field AND one (1) or more years of experience providing financial management expertise in preparing, supporting, and or managing complex financial budgets.

Option 3: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or related field.
Additional Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
Experience will include practical skills in MS Excel for spreadsheet tasks, database management, MS Word for document creation and formatting, and MS Outlook or similar email systems for electronic correspondence.
