Requirements

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Admissions, Recruitment and Outreach (ARO) department serves as the first point of contact for potential students expressing an interest in the Community College of Denver.

ARO is the primary resource for new, readmit, and transfer in student enrollment. The department coordinates recruitment and student outreach efforts in community settings and secondary education.

The department also educates students about and assists with the onboarding and steps to enrollment and registration processes.

This position promotes the college to the general public and provides general college navigation, admissions and registration counseling and assistance to prospective students.

This includes relationship-building and maintenance with key external contacts.

The navigator promptly follows up with potential students via phone, written communications, web conferencing, and face to face interactions under the guiding philosophy “recruit to retain” and increase student enrollment.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Recruitment, Pre-Enrollment, and Registration

  • Provide a sense of belonging and connectedness to CCD, assist in college navigation in admissions and registration counseling.
  • Assist in and participation of campus tours.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping and data that will guide goal attainment. Such as tack recruitment activities, contacts, and outcomes using CRM system.
  • Function in individual or group settings, using various means of technology.
  • Work with concurrent enrollment department to aid in the matriculation of high school seniors.

Student Support and Retention

  • Utilize various software platforms to document, track, case manage, goal set and communicate with students and staff.
  • Partner with other departments throughout the college, planning and participating in recruitment and registration events, and serving on key college committees/taskforces.
  • Provide multilingual support as appropriate
  • Helps reduce barriers for adult learners, first-generation, low income and other student types to provide accurate guidance.

Community Engagement

  • Promote the college at various targeted locations and events and provide general college navigation, admissions, and registration counseling to prospective students.
  • Conduct individual or group workshops and presentations as determined.
  • Delivers engaging and culturally relevant presentations on college programs, admissions, financial aid, career pathways and more.
  • Work closely with external partnerships to maintain and grow them. Act as a visible professional representing the college in the community, reflecting CCD’s mission and commitments.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.


Education:(Minimum/Required)

Associate degree from an accredited institution.


Experience: :(Minimum/Required)

  • Two (2) years of professional experience in higher education in Admissions, Financial Aid, Enrollment, Advising, High School Programs or a similar position.
  • Bilingual. Fluency in English and Spanish.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: (Preferred)

Knowledge of student information systems and software platforms, such as Banner, CRM Recruit, and Navigate. and Self-Service Banner student system.

Strong computer skills with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and relational databases desired.


Experience working in a community college or Hispanic Serving Institution.


Licensure/Certification: Valid US driver’s license.


Equipment Used: Personal computer, fax, phone, copier.


Other Considerations: Willingness to travel, extensive evening and weekend hours. Capability of standing for long periods and handling large quantities of recruitment materials.
