Position Summary:
The Temporary Benefits Assistant will support the Human Resources Management office with the administration of employee insurance and retirement benefits. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the administration of state insurance and retirement benefits for college employees and subscribers
  • Accurately enter and update benefit and retirement codes in the college information system
  • Prepare written correspondence related to insurance and retirement notifications
  • Assist with insurance billing and reconciliation processes
  • Review benefits-related forms and documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefits and retirement processes in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and benefits information
  • Provide general administrative support to the benefits area as needed

This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree and professional experience in human resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with employee benefits, particularly insurance and retirement administration.
