Key Requirements

  • Ability to provide crisis intervention, assessments, treatment planning, individual/group therapy, and care coordination
  • Experience functioning in a mobile clinical team with advanced clinical skills
  • Willingness to transport clients using program vehicles and work a flexible schedule including evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations

Requirements

Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking an energetic and dynamic LMHP for the position of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Behavioral Health Therapist.

ACT is an evidence-based model supporting adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses or co-occurring substance use disorders by responding with treatment interventions in non-clinic-based settings throughout the entire County of Loudoun. ACT provides ongoing care to individuals who frequently experience episodes of homelessness, hospitalizations, and/or incarcerations. This ACT Behavioral Health Therapist II provides treatment interventions in a person-centered and patient-driven manner.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, assessment, treatment planning, care management, individual and group therapy, and coordination of treatment services. Complies with federal, state and agency policies and procedures. Demonstrates the ability to function as a member of a busy, mobile clinical team utilizing advanced clinical skills. Will be required to transport individuals in program vehicles.

Schedule includes days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. This position has On-Call rotation responsibilities and eligible for Emergency Overtime and On-Call pay and is eligible for a $6,000 hiring bonus in accordance with the County’s Hiring and Retention Bonus Program.

Qualifications

Master's degree; license eligible within one (1) year of hire or possess professional licensure through the VA Department of Health Professions Board as a: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP). Two (2) years of professional experience working with individuals who have a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis, which may include internship experience.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged to apply.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to wear N-95 mask and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face shield, mask, apron, gown, gloves, etc.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV and TB test.
  • Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
