Summary

This job is for a barista running a coffee shop on a Marine Corps base, where you'll prepare and serve coffee drinks, smoothies, and simple foods while helping customers and maintaining equipment.

Skilled in various phases of food service operations. Ability to operate a cash register. Perform simple arithmetic. Perform work according to established safety guidelines.

Ability to read instructions, follow oral and written instructions are required.

Must be able to successfully complete and maintain food safety/ sanitation certification, and/ or ServSafe trainer certification, as applicable. Major Duties:

What to Expect Operates a full-service coffee shop, preparing and serving the full range of coffee beverages and other specialty non-alcoholic drinks.

Performs tasks with several steps or sequences of tasks such as setting up food service counters and side service stands with hot and cold food and beverages, including desserts and condiments.

Prepares and serves simple food items. Operates coffee shop machinery to include commercial espresso machine, etc.

Assists customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee and frozen fruit beverages, and whole bean sales.

Provides quality beverages, such as expresso drinks, smoothies, Coffee of the Week, Whole Bean and food products consistent with established recipe and presentation standards.

Performs preventative maintenance on equipment according to established checklists and schedules. Performs other related duties as required.

Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.
