Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces.
Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Documentation could include PCS Orders, UK Visa, etc.
Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'.
A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces.
Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'.In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN RESUME): NA-01 (Entry) Level - No previous training or experience is required.
Ability to follow simple oral instructions, and be able to use knives and automatic slicers to prepare garnishes.
Ability to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds.
NA-03 (Target) Level - Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, which includes knowledge of correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages.
Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. Must be able to follow cash handling procedures.
Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds. Major Duties:
Assignments become progressively more difficult until the full performance level is reached. Operates service bars. Serves beer, soda and wine. Serves patrons directly or delivers to waiter.
Receives payment, operates cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons or waiter.
Prepares a limited variety of simple alcoholic beverages as requested by patrons and wait staff or uses proper premixes and garnishes Keeps bar and work area clean and sanitary.
Sets up bar for operation and obtains cash bank. Maintains work area neat and clean. Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils. Stocks service bars and assists higher-level bartender as required.
