This job involves fixing and maintaining cars, trucks, and other equipment used by the county, including inspections, repairs, and welding work on both gas and diesel engines.
It also requires guiding and training other mechanics to improve their abilities.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience as a top-level mechanic who enjoys teaching others and can handle emergency tasks like snow removal.
Candidates should have technical school training and three years of automotive and equipment repair experience at the master mechanic level or have an equivalent amount of training and experience.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license.
Additionally, Possession of a Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification (MAC or ASE) is required and a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will be required within 6 months of hire.
