About Team Bellingham

Team Bellingham is one of 17 local audit teams that offer a beneficial opportunity for team members to engage in accountability, financial statement and federal grant compliance audits.

The team is responsible for auditing nearly 180 governments in Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan, and Island counties including counties, cities, ports, school districts and more.

Applicants are very welcome from any of these counties and do not have to reside in Bellingham alone.

Requirements

Some of what you will do:

We offer seasonal and year-round paid internships with our audit teams across the state. The start and length of internships is flexible. Travel to audit sites will be necessary.

This recruitment will be used to establish a pool of Audit Intern candidates. Qualified candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Eligible candidates will remain in the pool for three months and referred to our hiring managers as openings occur.

Interns work with our audit staff and perform audit tests, analyze data, communicate with entity staff, and provide support for more complex audit procedures. Interns may be involved in several small assignments or one large assignment over the course of the internship.

Qualifications


  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university
    • Completed their sophomore year
    • Completed some accounting course work
OR
  • One year experience in accounting - paid or unpaid
  • One year of professional experience
OR
  • Combination of accounting experience and school
AND
  • Have strong computer skills
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
