Full Job Description

  • Handles appeal under the administrative procedures act and manages the department's response.

  • Assists outside counsel in defense of civil lawsuits, including investigation and case preparation.

  • Provides legal guidance to agency employees, attorneys, court officials and other agencies in the interpretation of state and federal laws and agency policies and procedures.

  • Assists General Counsel's Office with agency orientation and legal training.

  • Practice areas for the General Counsel's Office include constitutional law, litigation, contracts, employment law, appeals and administrative law.
