Full Job Description

Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory preemployment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing.

In addition, continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.

As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement This position is located in Denver, Colorado. Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D.

Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 3 year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience. United States citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Applicants must demonstrate superior analytical ability; possess strong research, writing and courtroom skills; exercise fair and sound judgment; exhibit the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, support staff, and law enforcement agencies; follow all Department of Justice and United States Attorney's Office policies; be able to negotiate effectively with opposing counsel; handle matters in court persuasively and justly on behalf of the United States of America; and be devoted to excellence.

You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado is accepting applications for an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) to serve in the Criminal Division's Cybercrime and National Security Section.

This attorney will join a team of prosecutors who represent the United States in a wide variety of criminal matters involving cybercrime, child exploitation, computer intrusions, dark net and digital currency-facilitated offenses, as well as national security crimes, including terrorism, espionage, and export control offenses.

Applicants for this position should expect an active litigation practice that may include handling cases in all subject matters listed above.

Successful applicants share attributes that include an excellent academic background and stellar litigation experience, sound judgment, a demonstrated devotion to fairness and justice under the law, and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
