This job is for an assistant professor who will teach undergraduate classes in systems engineering at the U.S.
Air Force Academy, help develop courses and curriculum, and contribute to research and other academic activities.
It's a tenure-track position starting in Fall 2026, ideal for someone with a fresh PhD in engineering who enjoys teaching young cadets and advancing knowledge in how complex systems work.
A good fit would be an enthusiastic educator with strong research potential and experience in systems-related fields.

Academic tenure is based upon performance and approval of the faculty and may be considered after initial or subsequent 3-year appointment period.
Selectee may be offered an initial appointment with tenure if their academic credentials warrant such action.
Performs faculty duties in the Systems Engineering Program with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at USAFA.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A relevant earned Doctorate degree from an accredited academic institution before employment begins (projected Fall 2026); demonstrated or presumptive potential for effective teaching, research, consultation, and other scholarly and professional activities.
ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES: Systems Engineering or directly related field.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An earned Doctorate degree in Systems Engineering, or Industrial and Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with systems engineering experience, or a closely related discipline.
