The University of South Carolina College of Nursing seeks nurse scientists specializing in brain health and neurological care.
This on-site position offers a unique opportunity to join a growing cluster of interprofessional scientists and clinicians across multiple colleges.
The university is seeking to build South Carolina’s first hospital specializing in brain health, with an emphasis on cutting edge technology and care from injury to rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct research in brain health, from injury to rehabilitation, focusing on advanced technology innovation, and excellence in care.
• Demonstrate expertise in biobehavioral health and nursing science, with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Teach undergraduate or graduate courses, with knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices and research methodologies.
• Mentor students in research and scholarly activities.
• Engage in service activities that support the mission of the college and university.

Required Education and Experience
PhD in Nursing or a PhD in a health-related field and a minimum of a master’s degree in nursing
Candidates at the Assistant Professor level are expected to have:
• clinical and research experience,
• a focused program of research with a history of publications and grant submissions.
Candidates at the Associate Professor level are expected to have:
• a record of publications and externally funded research grants,
• scientific partnerships with junior and senior research faculty,
• PhD-level student teaching and mentorship.
The selected candidates will join the College of Nursing’s research team of junior and senior-level researchers with established research programs.
