Key Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing aquatic programs, equivalent to the next lower grade level
  • Current certification in Lifeguarding or Lifeguarding Instructor
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent
  • Obtain Water Safety Instructor certification within 12 months of appointment
  • Obtain Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Pool Operator certification within 12 months of appointment
  • Obtain AED and O2 Administration certification within two weeks of reporting for duty
  • Experience in supervising staff, providing training, and enforcing safety procedures

This position is located at the Aquatics Water Park.

Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

Demonstrated experience in planning and executing aquatic programs. This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor aquatic programs and facilities.

Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level.

Current certification in Life guarding or Life guarding instructor, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent.

The following certificates must be obtained within 12 months of appointment: - Water Safety Instructor - Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Pool Operator certification In addition, for facilities that use Automated External Defibrillator "AED's" and Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the following certificate must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty: - AED and O2 Administration Major Duties:

  • Assistant the aquatics manager in the supervision of the aquatic programs and acts as head lifeguard. Assist with planning and administering a wide range of fairly typical, conventional and well-established basic aquatic activities.
  • Assist manager in plans and coordination of details for reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic, fitness, instructional, and joint community programs.
  • Assist with the process to evaluate the effectiveness of the aquatic programs. Assist with program objectives from the standpoint of participant response and resources.
  • Assist with the development and update of the Standard Operating Procedures for the aquatic facilities, programs and enforces policies.
  • Interviews and selects such staff and provides them with required orientation, training and management in order to meet all activity needs, provides transition training to outstanding volunteers to permit theme to serve in new and different areas.
