Full Job Description

This position serves as the Chief Clerk for the Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review, Board of Immigration Appeals located in Falls Church, VA.

The primary role for this position is to serve as the principal advisor concerning case processing, records management, and related case management involving the processing of incoming cases, and judicial decisions.

To qualify for the position of Appellate Administrator (Chief Clerk), at GS-0901-15you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Providing strategic technical guidance to ensure case processing operations comply with applicable governing requirements.

Evaluating appellate program performance to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Leading agency records-management initiatives to ensure operational compliance and effectiveness.

AND Exercising supervisory authority over professional and technical staff. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the closing of this announcement.

The duties and responsibilities for a GS-0901-15 Appellate Administrator (Chief Clerk) generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Serving as principal advisor concerning case processing, records management, and related case management involving the processing of incoming cases and issuance of judicial decisions.

Providing technical assistance to the Board of Immigration Appeals management team regarding the development of policies, procedures, practices, systems, and approaches to identify the most efficient practices, methods, systems, and procedures to achieve case management goals.

Initiating and ensuring appropriate coordination, consultation, and cooperative working relationships with Federal officials, court officials, attorneys, and individuals involved with case matters.

Leading various aspects of case administrative management operations. Directing the work of a staff consisting of two deputies, a team of supervisors, administrative, technical, and support personnel.
